Happy customer!

We just shipped out these business cards for My Turtleneck. This was Catherine's first use of letterpress as a designer. Take a look at her reaction. We typically do not get many requests for gold ink on our Steel paper and we are happy to see this look come together. We are so glad she loves her new business cards!
Even though we are in the heart of wedding season, we love that we still are getting many social stationery requests which we feel we have a specialty in. Please ask us how we can turn your idea for your business stationery into a reality.

Promote your business with letterpress
thanks to our retailer Luxe Expressions of Atlanta, Georgia.
Shown in the picture is the front and back of the invitation.
Ever thought of printing your business stationery letterpress? We've had a number of small business owners contact us over the years, because they wanted to provide their clients with something special - something out of the ordinary 4-color process we see everywhere.
Letterpress is already a trend in wedding stationery, so why not for business stationery as well? The initial conversations about printing something letterpress or not are much the same. "I don't know how much it will cost, but I really want something different." And, "I want this event to be timeless and set the tone." Or how about, "we really want to make a statement." Make a statement with whom? Guests, donors, clients, the in-laws...well whomever it is, let's make an impression.
Any business owner will tell you, you have a spend a buck to earn a buck. Right? Well, we can tell you to select where you spend your bucks wisely. Like many other letterpress printers, for example, we print business cards. Why? They stand out from the rest of the cards out there AND they are a great conversation starter. You're essentially saying, "business with you is important to me."
If you're planning a special event, think about who you hope to attend. If you're hoping for a stellar crowd, then maybe it's appropriate to throw a little letterpress love their way. The special event pieces shown above make everyone look and feel good. We like that.
Are you excited? We hope you are, so don't deflate when we have to talk price. For starters, our business cards are affordable yet luxurious. Our standard paper is 100% cotton, which for most people, is really nice. Order a higher quantity to get a better price per piece. Try to keep the information on one side of the card - there is no rule that you have to print on the backside!
If your budget is tight for an upcoming special event, consider sticking to one color letterpress. Dress up the invite with a letterpress envelope liner or maybe a stunning envelope design. Don't forget about our letterpress coasters, gift tags, bookmarks and programs as these pieces provide your clients with a special keepsake to remember your company.

Chipboard? What were we thinking?

As a letterpress printer, we get wonderful samples of paper by mail. Luxurious cotton stocks, fun metallics, seed paper...you name it, we've seen it. So, imagine the surprise of our paper distributor in Minneapolis when we told him we were bringing in some chipboard stock (ranging 30-40pt). They know we print primarily fine stationery products, so they were a little confused by our need for a non-luxury, no thrills stock.

We first used chipboard back in 2008 when we came out with our Loop products, featuring artwork by a local artist, Kate Puetz. When she came up with the Loop animals, we just didn't want to print them on white paper. Valerie decided to print on chipboard. It performed very well and took a nice impression. The only "issue" we have with chipboard is that it dulls our cutter very quickly. You also have to be OK with the fact that chipboard will have flecks and vary from sheet to sheet, but that's the beauty of a recycled product.

We certainly can't forget to mention the above business cards designed by Flush Designs and printed by Spark. The Dirty Roots cards turned out wonderfully. These cards are a double-sided print on a 40pt. chipboard stock. The chipboard has enough heft to it that we could achieve a great impression both sides.

The Thie Custom Homes business cards were designed and printed here just a couple months ago for a local home builder. Our client has a unique card that makes an impression with his current and prospective clients.
If you are thinking of using chipboard for your next letterpress product, give us a ring. We are more than happy to send you a sample so you can see it for yourself!
