Wedding Stationery: Deckle Edges and Sewing
We designed this invitation set for Epitome Papers, located in The Galleria, Edina, Minnesota.
This invitation design is clean and understated, the monogram for the couple takes center stage. Printed on Crane Lettra 220# pearl white cover (Invite Panel) and 110# cover (all other pieces) in rust orange and brown inks.
Notice the invitation panel has one deckle edge at the top. We consider this a torn edge, not a true deckle edge. Since the 220# cover is a duplexed cover (glue is involved), the torn edge takes on a different appearance.
The insert card set is hand-sewn together in an orange thread that is a perfect match to the ink color used on the invitation set. This is a nice, yet subtle, way to add color to the reply cards that are printed in only brown ink. The reply card is able to perforate off from the set and mailed as a postcard.
